Network New Music

opus21musikplus was founded in 2007 by composer and conductor Konstantia Gourzi. The network is more than an ensemble, more than an orchestra and more than a contemporary music project. It is aiming to create connections to other forms of art and music.

The first years the network concentrated on the idea that music is more than just the notes written down by the composer. In order to create a special atmosphere at each performance, the ensemble combined the musical works with other forms of art – light design, performance or installation, text, theatre or dance. Today, opus21musikplus is aiming at performances that combine different musical styles. Music is presented as a sensuous experience, regardless of musical traditions or divisions, in a modern, joyful way.

The ensemble collaborates only for project-based concerts or recordings.
